Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Checkout Rewards, operated under the Shimoverse Studios name. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to agree to these terms. Provide accurate account information, protect access to your device and account, and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.

Informational recommendations

Checkout Rewards provides informational checkout recommendations based on the wallet selections you save and available merchant, category, reward, coupon, and gift-card data. It does not process payments or provide financial, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for confirming merchant eligibility and card, coupon, and gift-card terms before completing a purchase.

Rewards, merchant categories, balances, offers, enrollment requirements, caps, and expiration dates can change or be interpreted differently by a card issuer or merchant. A recommendation is not a promise of savings, rewards, payment acceptance, or account approval.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, attempt to access another person's account or data, interfere with security or availability, reverse engineer the service except where applicable law permits it, automate abusive traffic, or use Checkout Rewards for unlawful activity. Do not use the app to store payment-card numbers, passwords, recovery codes, or secrets the app does not request.

Your content and data

You retain ownership of information you enter. You give us a limited permission to process account, Wallet, store-lookup, and support information only as needed to operate and improve the service, protect it, and comply with law. Our Privacy Policy explains those practices and your choices.

Third-party services

Authentication, hosting, merchant lookup, and related functionality may depend on Apple, Google, Supabase, Vercel, card issuers, merchants, and other third parties. Their services and terms are outside our control. References to card issuers, payment networks, merchants, and trademarks identify compatibility or data sources and do not imply endorsement.

Availability and changes

Store lookup, card ranking, OCR, reminders, and third-party data are provided as available. Background reminders are best-effort and depend on supported iOS permissions and delivery behavior. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features when needed for security, reliability, legal compliance, or product development.

Account suspension and deletion

We may suspend access for material violations, abuse, or security risk. You may stop using the service at any time and can permanently delete your account using the account-deletion process.

Disclaimer and limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Checkout Rewards is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shimoverse Studios and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost rewards, or purchase decisions arising from use of the service. Our aggregate liability for a claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Checkout Rewards in the prior 12 months or US $100.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in California will have jurisdiction where applicable, subject to any consumer rights that require a different forum or law.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will post a revised effective date. If a material change requires additional consent, we will request it as required by law. Questions can be sent to hello@checkoutrewards.app.
